OCR Quality Guardrails

OCR is exposed through proven routes only, with table extraction kept beta until it earns stronger proof.

PDF

Scanned PDFs

Proof covers scanned PDF to searchable PDF, TXT, and editable DOCX routes.

IMG

Document Images

PNG, JPG, and JPEG image OCR routes are public through the image converter.

GRID

Tables Stay Gated

OCR table extraction to spreadsheets stays beta until more real samples pass row and column checks.

OK

Proof First

This page exposes only already proven OCR entry points and keeps them noindex while supported.

How OCR Conversion Works

Use the converter above for scanned PDFs, or choose an image OCR shortcut for document photos.

1

Upload a Scan

Use a scanned PDF, PNG, JPG, or JPEG document image.

2

Choose OCR Output

Select searchable PDF, TXT, or DOCX where that output is available.

3

Download Result

Download the converted file and review the extracted text for scan-quality limits.

OCR for Searchable and Editable Documents

FreeFast OCR conversion uses the existing document converter and image converter routes instead of a separate unproven queue. That keeps the user-facing page aligned with the same capability matrix used by upload validation and admin reporting.

What is public now

Scanned PDF to searchable PDF, PDF to text, PDF to DOCX, and image OCR routes for PNG, JPG, and JPEG are available as supported conversions. They stay out of the sitemap until the project promotes them from supported to verified after more real-world proof.

What remains gated

OCR spreadsheet extraction is not promoted here yet. Table-heavy scans must keep passing row and column confidence checks before that output is made visible as a regular public claim.

OCR Converter Questions

Current public OCR behavior and quality limits

The public OCR entry points currently cover PDF to searchable PDF, PDF to TXT, PDF to DOCX, and PNG/JPG/JPEG image OCR to searchable PDF or TXT.
The PDF to DOCX route uses OCR fallback where needed and is designed to produce editable text where the source quality allows it. Complex scans may still need review after conversion.
OCR table extraction is still treated as beta until more real-world row and column proof passes. It should not be promoted publicly faster than the quality evidence.
